Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (day) and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (primarily nights). Schedule rotates across the week (includes every other weekend and every third holiday).
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality PCU/stepdown nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with compassion and clinical confidence
- Monitor telemetry and continuous monitoring systems, interpreting data and escalating changes promptly
- Titrate and manage drips and set-rate infusions (e.g., Cardizem, beta blockers, seizure meds) safely according to protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, charge nurses, and techs to ensure coordinated patient care
- Perform continuous EEG monitoring support and manage seizure medication regimens when indicated
- Mentor and communicate effectively with patient care techs and aides to maintain appropriate patient ratios and smooth workflow
- Document care accurately in EPIC and complete required competencies and orientation assessments
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for practice in Nebraska
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (stepdown/PCU, telemetry, or similar acute care preferred)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (must be current at time of submission)
- Demonstrated experience with titration of drips and telemetry monitoring
- Comfortable using EPIC charting system
- Valid driver's license required at time of submission and to meet radius rule
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Education
- Active Registered Nurse license required; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- PCU/Stepdown nursing and adult/geriatric acute care knowledge
- Telemetry and continuous cardiac monitoring interpretation
- Medication titration and management of common drips and seizure medications
- Continuous EEG monitoring familiarity
- Clinical documentation in EPIC
- Effective teamwork, clinical prioritization, and critical thinking under pressure
- Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
