Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (day) and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (primarily nights). Schedule rotates across the week (includes every other weekend and every third holiday).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality PCU/stepdown nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with compassion and clinical confidence
• Monitor telemetry and continuous monitoring systems, interpreting data and escalating changes promptly
• Titrate and manage drips and set-rate infusions (e.g., Cardizem, beta blockers, seizure meds) safely according to protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, charge nurses, and techs to ensure coordinated patient care
• Perform continuous EEG monitoring support and manage seizure medication regimens when indicated
• Mentor and communicate effectively with patient care techs and aides to maintain appropriate patient ratios and smooth workflow
• Document care accurately in EPIC and complete required competencies and orientation assessments

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Nebraska
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (stepdown/PCU, telemetry, or similar acute care preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (must be current at time of submission)
• Demonstrated experience with titration of drips and telemetry monitoring
• Comfortable using EPIC charting system
• Valid driver's license required at time of submission and to meet radius rule
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Active Registered Nurse license required; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• PCU/Stepdown nursing and adult/geriatric acute care knowledge
• Telemetry and continuous cardiac monitoring interpretation
• Medication titration and management of common drips and seizure medications
• Continuous EEG monitoring familiarity
• Clinical documentation in EPIC
• Effective teamwork, clinical prioritization, and critical thinking under pressure
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
