Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week guaranteed); includes two weekend shifts per pay period. Option to schedule 4 shifts/week upon discussion. Night shift, first to float to other units as needed (ICU/MS-Tele).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert acute care for progressive care (PCU) patients recovering from cardiac or surgical procedures
- Assess and manage cardiac telemetry, interpret EKGs and respond to dysrhythmias
- Administer IV cardiac medications and manage advanced devices (ventilators, PCA pumps, transvenous pacing)
- Perform specialized procedures and cares such as chest tube management, arterial/venous sheath care, and peritoneal dialysis support
- Collaborate closely with hospitalists, cath lab and surgical teams to coordinate seamless patient care
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner EMR and utilize unit equipment (Philips monitors, Pyxis, Sigma IV pumps, Zoll monitors)
- Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training to maintain high-quality cardiac and post-op care standards
Qualifications
- Active, in-good-standing Arizona RN license (required)
- ACLS and BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years RN experience (job posting lists 2 years); at least 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required
- Proven telemetry and EKG interpretation skills; competency in IV cardiac medication administration
- Experience with ventilator management, chest tubes, transvenous pacing and arterial/venous sheath care preferred
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% within two attempts prior to signing contract (failure results in DNU for specified facilities)
Education
- Active Arizona RN license (required)
- BSN not required (posting indicates BSN required: No)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
- IV cardiac medication administration and critical care medication pumps
- Ventilator management and chronic ventilator patient care
- Chest tube care, transvenous pacing and arterial/venous sheath management
- Peritoneal dialysis support and PCA pump use
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR, Philips cardiac monitors, Zoll R series, Medtronic pacemakers, Pyxis and Sigma Spectrum IV pumps
- Strong acute cardiac/post-op assessment and patient prioritization skills
