Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' functional mobility and develop individualized treatment plans that get results
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and gait training
- Document patient progress accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the care team to coordinate safe, effective treatment
- Educate patients and families on home programs, fall prevention, and safe mobility strategies
- Ensure patient safety and comfort while promoting independence and quality of life
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (Diploma, B.S., or M.S.)
- License to practice in the State of Maine, or eligibility to obtain one
- CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Valid Maine driver's license required
- Previous patient care experience preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program (Diploma, B.S., or M.S.)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and treatment planning
- Therapeutic exercise and manual therapy techniques
- Gait training and assistive device education
- Clinical documentation and outcome measurement
- Infection control, safety, and mobility assistance
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
