Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Lead acute interventions including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and advanced life support
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech 6.0 (experience preferred)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and update individualized care plans
• Provide coverage for on-call periods, responding to 24-hour call responsibilities as assigned
• Float to Medical-Surgical units when needed to support patient care and staffing needs
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and maintain compliance with ICU protocols

Qualifications

• Current ICU nurse (must be a practicing ICU RN)
• ACLS and BLS certifications — required
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and taking 24-hour call shifts
• Willingness to float to Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) as needed
• Experience with electronic medical records; Meditech 6.0 experience preferred
• Able to commit to a 13-week contract and adhere to facility call/leave policies (including the 3-day cancellation clause)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and acute assessment skills for unstable patients
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, ventilator basics and vasoactive medication titration
• Clear communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable documenting in EMR systems, ideally Meditech 6.0
• Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure and respond to codes and emergencies
• Flexibility to float between ICU and Med-Surg while maintaining patient safety
