Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with best practices and facility policies
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop timely nursing care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately while monitoring patient responses
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate excellent care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to promote recovery
- Document clinical care clearly and promptly in the electronic medical record
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
- Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and participating in quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or compact license with PA eligibility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred depending on unit
- Clinical experience in acute care or related nursing areas is preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
- Current immunizations and health screenings as required by facility policy
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or nursing diploma required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with medication administration and documentation
- Comfort using electronic medical record systems
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Effective verbal and written communication with patients, families, and care teams
- Familiarity with infection control standards and patient safety practices
