Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and process mobile X-ray exams using portable digital (DR) and computed (CR) radiography equipment and ensure images are clinically diagnostic
- Unload and transport portable X-ray equipment into facilities, setting up safely and efficiently for each exam
- Transmit images to Radiologists (and EKGs to Cardiologists when required) promptly and per protocol
- Perform EKGs as needed and ensure timely, accurate transmission for interpretation
- Scan and submit exam-related paperwork and billing documents daily to maintain clean records
- Maintain and perform routine checks on vehicle and radiography equipment to ensure reliability
- Communicate professionally and clearly with dispatch, management, peers, and facility staff
- Provide compassionate patient positioning and care while obtaining high-quality diagnostic images
Qualifications
- ARRT certification required (submit documentation)
- Active Driver's License required (submit documentation)
- Experience operating portable digital radiography (DR) and computed radiography (CR) systems
- Comfort performing EKGs and transmitting results when requested
- Ability to safely push/pull and maneuver equipment (50–100 lbs in typical scenarios)
- Strong clinical documentation and scanning skills to meet daily protocol
- Excellent professional communication and teamwork skills
- Limited licenses are not accepted — must meet required licensure standards
Education
- ARRT certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Mobile radiography best practices and portable X-ray operation
- Digital image acquisition (DR/CR) and image transmission workflows
- Patient positioning techniques to obtain diagnostic-quality images
- Clinical documentation, scanning, and submitting paperwork per protocol
- Vehicle and equipment maintenance basics for mobile service delivery
- Interacting professionally with facility staff, dispatch, and management
- Basic EKG acquisition and transmission knowledge (when applicable)
- Troubleshooting common equipment and transmission issues
