Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients across the lifespan and develop individualized respiratory care plans
- Manage mechanical ventilation and adjust settings in collaboration with the care team
- Perform ABG analysis and use results to guide clinical decisions
- Provide age-appropriate respiratory therapies and education to patients and families
- Respond to emergencies and participate in resuscitation events confidently
- Safely perform patient transports with appropriate monitoring and equipment
- Document care accurately in EMR (Meditech) and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Apply evidence-based respiratory care practices and participate in continuing education
Qualifications
- Current New Hampshire License/Registration for Respiratory Care (required)
- NBRC credential(s) (required)
- BLS (AHA) required and ACLS current or eligible per NBRC
- PALS and NRP required or must be obtainable within six (6) months of hire
- Clinically independent with experience across all age groups
- 2 years acute care hospital experience required; critical access hospital experience preferred — new grads welcome and willing to train
Education
- Graduate from an accredited Program of Respiratory Care
- Current New Hampshire License/Registration (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in mechanical ventilation management and ventilator troubleshooting
- Proficient in ABG analysis and applying results to patient care
- Comfortable with age-appropriate respiratory care for neonates through geriatrics
- Experience with Meditech EMR for accurate documentation
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency and resuscitation situations
- Transport experience and safe patient handling during transfers
- Familiarity with evidence-based respiratory therapy standards and hospital policies
