Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and screen patients for imaging procedures with care, clear communication, and age-appropriate explanations
- Produce high-quality diagnostic CT and X-ray images used to guide clinical decisions
- Perform radiologic procedures safely and competently, adjusting technique for patient needs
- Assess patient comfort and pain during imaging and contact physicians when intervention is needed
- Deliver excellent patient care while maintaining safety protocols to reduce errors
- Document imaging procedures and maintain accurate records to support continuity of care
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the imaging team to ensure efficient patient flow and imaging quality
- Maintain continuing education compliance and contribute to quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) — Radiography (required)
- ARRT — CT registration required (or willingness to train CT where noted)
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) / BLS certification required
- New Hampshire License of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NH MIRT) — must be in-hand
- State license: New Hampshire (required)
- Approximately 2 years of imaging experience preferred (0–2 years considered; willing to train CT for the right candidate)
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Education
- Formal radiologic technologist training / program completion (required for ARRT registration)
- Bachelor of Science preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with CT and X-ray equipment and radiographic techniques
- Clinical knowledge of radiography, diagnostic image production, and radiologic procedures
- Patient preparation, screening, and age-appropriate communication
- Commitment to patient care, safety, and infection control practices
- Ability to assess patient pain and escalate to physicians appropriately
- Familiarity with radiation safety principles and continuing education requirements
- Team collaboration and accurate documentation skills
