Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and timely reassessments for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients
- Administer medications safely following the Six Rights and monitor patient responses
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify dysrhythmias and initiate ACLS-directed care when needed
- Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results to guide patient care
- Develop, revise and evaluate individualized care plans daily to ensure effective outcomes
- Facilitate patient admissions, transfers and discharges while coordinating with interdisciplinary teams
- Assist physicians with procedures and perform technical skills within scope of licensure
- Provide patient and family education, teaching plans and follow-up to support recovery
- Work independently in a small, rural facility setting and adapt quickly to changing needs
Qualifications
- Current RN license for New Hampshire or Compact RN license in-hand (facility will not pend)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (high proficiency in ED and Med-Surg/PCU required)
- ACLS (AHA) required and BLS (AHA) required — must upload with profile
- PALS or ENPC required within 6 months of hire
- COVID-19 vaccination required for this role
- Willingness to float and function as a resource nurse across units
- Comfortable working independently in a small/rural hospital setting
Knowledge & Skills
- Comprehensive head-to-toe assessment skills across the lifespan
- Strong medication administration knowledge and adherence to safety protocols
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia identification with ACLS-based interventions
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- IV/fluid and electrolyte management experience
- Ability to educate patients and families clearly and compassionately
- Effective communication with physicians, charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to assist with procedures and perform technical nursing skills
