Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate the CT scanner to acquire diagnostic images of the head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine and extremities
- Perform radiographic exams and ensure accurate patient positioning for all ages from neonatal to geriatric
- Use Meditech and other computer applications to document exams and maintain accurate patient records
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, the Director of Radiology and the patient care team to deliver high-quality imaging services
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care, explaining procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Adhere to radiation safety, quality control procedures and departmental protocols
- Participate in cross-training for additional imaging modalities as needed to support department needs
- Maintain required certifications and participate in continuing education to keep skills current
Qualifications
- Graduate of an American Medical Association-approved school of radiologic technology (required)
- Registered in radiography (ARRT or state equivalent) – required
- New Hampshire state license or Compact license in-hand at time of submission (facility will not pend license) – required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required
- Additional CT certification – preferred
- Training and/or experience imaging neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients – required
- Familiarity with Meditech and general computer applications; technical aptitude and willingness to learn software
Education
- Graduate of an American Medical Association-approved school of radiologic technology
Knowledge & Skills
- Computed Tomography (CT) operation and protocol knowledge
- Radiography techniques and precise patient positioning
- Patient-focused care across the lifespan (neonatal through geriatric)
- Comfortable using Meditech and other clinical computer applications
- Radiation safety practices and quality control processes
- Strong communication, teamwork and independent problem-solving skills
- Willingness and ability to cross-train in additional imaging modalities
