Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for PCU, Medical/Surgical and Telemetry patients across the lifespan (newborn to geriatric)
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and promptly recognize and respond to dysrhythmias
- Manage patient care independently in a small rural facility — be ready to problem-solve and lead at the bedside
- Maintain accurate documentation, complete required skills checklists, and meet submission/profile requirements
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, timely care
- Support efficient throughput in a 25-bed hospital and contribute to a positive patient experience
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire RN license or Compact RN license (must be uploaded at submission)
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience across PCU, Medical/Surgical and Telemetry (3+ years required)
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Basic dysrhythmia test documented in profile (required)
- One supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years (required)
- Previous travel experience and rural/small-facility experience (highly preferred)
- Must have own vehicle for assignment and permanent address included in profile
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation, including dysrhythmia recognition
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) clinical skills and medical/surgical nursing competence
- Ability to work independently in a small, rural hospital environment
- Strong assessment, triage and critical thinking skills for varied acuity levels
- Comfort managing RN/patient ratios that range (typical 5:1; higher-acuity PCU patients 3:1–4:1)
- Clear communication skills for documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Familiarity with required clinical skills checklists and submission paperwork
