Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TEE) and stress echocardiography studies following established protocols
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging software to ensure high-quality diagnostic images
• Acquire accurate measurements and images of cardiac structures to support timely physician diagnosis
• Collaborate with cardiologists and clinical team members to communicate preliminary findings
• Prepare and position patients with compassion, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the exam
• Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR and PACS systems
• Maintain infection control and safety standards and report equipment issues promptly
• Participate in continuing education to maintain competency and professional certifications

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound / echocardiography program (required)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI (required)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS required as listed
• NH state license or Compact license in-hand at time of application (facility will not pend license)
• Strong proficiency performing echocardiograms and interpreting cardiac anatomy and function
• Experience with EMR and PACS strongly preferred (Meditech experience noted)
• 1+ years clinical echocardiography experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational and time-management skills

Education

• Completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound / echocardiography program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in echocardiography techniques including TTE, TEE and stress echo
• Solid understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology
• Proficient with ultrasound equipment operation, image acquisition and measurement
• Familiarity with contrast echocardiography and advanced imaging techniques
• Competent with EMR documentation and PACS workflow
• Strong patient care practices: positioning, safety, infection control and comfort
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams
