Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate posture, gait, balance, coordination and strength to build individualized treatment plans
- Lead and guide delivery of physical therapy services in accordance with local, state and federal regulations
- Develop and implement treatment strategies that help residents regain mobility and independence
- Document clinical findings, progress and discharge plans clearly and timely
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated resident care
- Coach residents and families on safe mobility, fall prevention and ADL strategies
- Ensure compliance with skilled nursing home regulations, policies and quality standards
Qualifications
- Valid, unrestricted PT license in the state of employment
- Missouri state license required (Compact allowed)
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience — required
- Long-term care (LTC) or rehab experience — preferred
- Valid driver’s license in the state of employment
- Meets the educational requirements for PT licensure in the state
Education
- Education meeting state licensure requirements for Physical Therapy (degree as required by Missouri licensure rules)
Knowledge & Skills
- Posture evaluation and gait analysis expertise
- Balance and coordination assessment skills
- Strength assessment and treatment planning
- Patient mobility restoration and ADL training
- Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to lead therapy delivery in a long-term care setting
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
