Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide weekly family therapy using the TFCO model, coaching caregivers in new behavioral and parenting skills
- Deliver direct clinical treatment and behavioral interventions that target school and family behavior
- Engage caregivers and key participants in active, change-focused treatment and overcome barriers to engagement
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, schools and other community providers
- Advocate for families and link them to community resources to support long-term stability
- Conduct crisis intervention and provide case management to ensure safety and continuity of care
- Facilitate collateral contacts with schools and community organizations on behalf of children and families
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations and required training
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling (required)
- Current Michigan licensure: LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP (required)
- Must meet Michigan Child Mental Health Professional requirements within 120 days of hire
- Minimum 1 year experience in examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families
- Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
- Favorable driving record and ability to obtain a chauffeur's license within 30 days of hire
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (candidates requiring sponsorship are not eligible)
Education
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient delivering the TFCO (Treatment Foster Care Oregon) model with fidelity
- Strong family therapy and behavioral therapy skills focused on school and home behavior
- Crisis intervention, case management and service coordination experience
- Experience collaborating with schools, community organizations and psychiatric providers
- Comfort using electronic medical records (EMR) and documenting clinical work
- Familiarity with pragmatic family therapies (structural, strategic, functional) and CBT is a plus
- Cultural competency, strong engagement skills and excellent interpersonal communication
