Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in emergency and intensive care settings
• Manage and adjust mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients
• Perform and interpret EKGs and arterial blood gas analysis to guide treatment
• Deliver patient and family education on pulmonary conditions and treatment plans
• Monitor and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring safe, effective operation
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to develop and execute patient care plans
• Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and escalation situations

Qualifications

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required with 2+ years of RRT experience
• Comfortable managing mechanical ventilation and interpreting EKGs (required)
• NBRC credential required
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Michigan state respiratory license required (out-of-state licenses not accepted)
• CRT holders acceptable if otherwise qualified
• Travel flexibility preferred

• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and diagnostic testing
• EKG rhythm recognition and cardiopulmonary correlations
