Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to a diverse mix of oncology, PCU, and med-surg patients
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor for reactions (certification preferred)
• Titrate drips such as heparin and cardizem as ordered
• Float to med-surg and PCU units as needed to support the team
• Collaborate with case managers, social workers, and therapists for holistic patient care
• Document thoroughly in EPIC and maintain accurate patient records
• Serve as a charge nurse after one year of experience on the unit

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of combined PCU and oncology experience
• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS/ONCC certification strongly preferred
• Chemotherapy certification preferred (not required)
• EPIC experience within 6 months preferred (but not a deal breaker)
• Willing to take an open-book exam on unit skills (pass at 90%)
• No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000)
• Knowledge of chemotherapy administration and oncology patient care
• Comfortable with titration of common drips
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, mixed-acuity unit
