Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, rotating weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to neuro telemetry patients with conditions like CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, and encephalopathy
Monitor telemetry and interpret EKG rhythms, titrating drips such as Heparin, Amio, and Cardizem
Perform thorough patient assessments and administer medications and IV therapy
Maintain sterile field during Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs lab required)
Collaborate with a dedicated team including charge nurses and nurse aides in a fast-paced, high-turnover unit
Deliver bedside report and ensure seamless shift transitions

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Level 1 trauma experience mandatory
Neuro experience highly preferred
Must pass dysrhythmia exam (two attempts)
Day 1 pass/fail SIMs lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Ability to titrate Amio, Cardizem, and Insulin drips

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
IV therapy and medication administration
Critical thinking and quick decision-making
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency with Cerner EMR and WOWs
Experience with sterile field technique and central line care
