Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse PCU/IMC patient population including cardiac, neuro, oncology, ortho, and more
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips (dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amio) and other critical medications (insulin, ativan, heparin)
• Float across multiple facilities within Zone 1, adapting quickly to new environments and unit cultures
• Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document accurately using EPIC electronic health record system
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/IMC nursing experience required
• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado (or compact license)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must have experience with cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin management
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing complex cardiac patients
• EPIC experience strongly preferred; neuro experience a plus
• Willingness to float throughout a 60-mile zone (Zone 1) and work rotating shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac drip management and titration
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for PCU/IMC patient populations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced float pool team
• Excellent communication and adaptability when floating to different units
• Familiarity with EPIC and basic computer skills
• Understanding of adult-geriatric nursing care for a wide range of diagnoses
