Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Self-scheduling with cyclic rotation, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend, rotating holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional nursing care to orthopedic patients, including pre- and post-operative care for joint replacements (knee, hip, ankle, shoulder) and spine surgeries
Monitor patient conditions, administer medications and IVs (pain management, antibiotics, blood products)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including charge nurses and patient care techs
Educate patients and families on recovery plans and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety protocols

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS certification from AHA
Willingness to learn and pass an open-book orientation exam with 90% or higher
No artificial nails on duty
Driver's license required for radius rule verification
Prior Med Surg or Ortho experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

Orthopedic nursing and post-surgical care
Pain management and IV administration
Patient assessment and critical thinking
Team collaboration and flexibility
Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends
