Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and care for adults and geriatric patients with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes conditions
• Titrate and manage critical drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Perform continuous EEG monitoring and interpret results
• Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to support the team
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to facility policies including artificial nail prohibition for patient safety

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Valid driver's license (required at submission for radius verification)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from Omaha CommonSpirit facilities
• Minimum of 1 year recent PCU or step-down experience preferred
• Willingness to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in titrating and managing continuous IV drips
• Experienced with continuous EEG monitoring
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes patient care
