Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), self-scheduling, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate nursing care to oncology and trauma patients in a fast-paced PCU/MedSurg setting
Administer chemotherapy and monitor patient responses (certification preferred)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers
Titrate drips such as heparin and cardizem as needed
Float to med/surg and PCU units to support team needs
Participate in hourly rounding to ensure patient satisfaction and safety

Qualifications

Current and active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
1 year of PCU/MedSurg or Oncology experience
BLS and ACLS certifications required
ONS/ONCC certification required (or obtained during orientation)
Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
Willingness to float and work every other weekend
Must pass an open book skills exam with a 90% or higher during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of oncology patient care from diagnosis to remission or end-of-life
Skills in chemotherapy administration and monitoring
Competency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator care
Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records
Ability to titrate common drips such as heparin and cardizem
