Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, includes every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients in a rural LDRP unit
Triage incoming patients and manage active labors, including Pitocin titration
Function as the primary baby catcher and transition nurse for newborns
Collaborate with OBs and anesthesia staff (on-call) to ensure safe deliveries
Serve as charge nurse on shift, taking a patient assignment while coordinating unit flow
Support occasional floating to med-surg as needed (rare)

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience
Trained in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) care
Ability to triage independently and function as baby catcher/transition nurse
Comfortable titrating Pitocin and managing high-risk situations
Willing to complete orientation week in-state (remote modules possible)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in fetal monitoring (AWHONN EFM) and OBIX system
ALS (Advanced Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certified
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in a rural setting
Ability to work collaboratively with a small team and on-call providers
Flexibility to adapt to unit needs and patient acuity
