Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating weekends (4 weekend shifts in 8 weeks) and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to neuro telemetry patients, including assessment, medication administration, and telemetry monitoring
Titrate intravenous drips such as amiodarone, cardizem, and insulin as ordered
Interpret EKG rhythms and respond to changes promptly
Perform central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion with strict sterile technique
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to manage patients with conditions like CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, and encephalopathy
Participate in bedside shift reports to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact license
Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience
Level 1 trauma experience required
BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred)
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in telemetry interpretation and EKG analysis
Experience with Cerner EMR system
Strong central line and Foley catheter care skills maintaining sterile field
Knowledge of heparin, amiodarone, cardizem, and insulin drip titration
Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
