Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, weekend and holiday rotation required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor and care for intermediate acuity patients including cardiac, stroke, and medical-surgical cases
Titrate drips such as heparin, insulin, and octreotide with precision
Interpret telemetry readings and respond to changes
Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges in a fast-paced, high-flow unit
Collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes
Float to med/surg and other areas as needed, including ICU/ED for appropriate care

Qualifications

Current and valid RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
At least one year of PCU or stepdown experience preferred
Driver's license required for radius verification (must live 50+ miles from facility)
Ability to pass open-book pass/fail exam during orientation with 90% score
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in drip titration and telemetry interpretation
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Adaptable to high-volume, fast-paced environments
Knowledge of cardiac and stroke patient care protocols
Comfortable with floating to various units
