Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, including every other weekend and holidays as required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide critical care to a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis cases in a 33-bed ICU
Titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and other titratable medications
Interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms with GE monitors and tele tech oversight
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including nurse aides and respiratory therapists
Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4-5)
Participate in unit orientation and pass an open-book exam during orientation week

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience preferred
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Driver's license required for distance verification (50-mile radius rule)
Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
Proficiency in titrating critical care drips and managing ventilated patients
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Adaptability to float between units as needed
Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
