Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, including weekends and holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate patient care as the Charge Nurse in a dynamic ICU float pool environment.
Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the hospital, providing critical care expertise.
Float across multiple ICUs (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU) within Zone 3 facilities ensuring staffing coverage.
Titrate and manage critical drips including pressors, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
Interpret cardiac telemetry without monitor tech support, ensuring accurate patient monitoring.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Active RN license in Colorado or compact state
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (3+ years for first-time travelers)
Prior Charge Nurse experience required
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
Epic experience preferred
Comfortable floating to PCU/Stepdown and Medical-Surgical units as needed
Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in titration of critical drips (pressors, sedation, paralytics, etc.)
Strong leadership and decision-making skills in charge nurse role
Excellent telemetry interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
Adaptable to various ICU settings and patient populations
Effective communication and teamwork across multiple facilities
