Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate nursing care for the Orthopedics department, acting as a clinical resource and role model for staff
- Collaborate with managers to design and implement unit-specific quality initiatives
- Perform direct patient care when needed, demonstrating excellent clinical skills across the department
- Develop and deliver education, re-training, and in-services in partnership with the nursing education team
- Lead and participate in process improvement projects and performance improvement teams
- Support accreditation and medical/legal compliance, including participation in DNV program education
- Communicate therapeutically with patients and families, incorporating guest relations into daily care
- Serve on committees and task forces to advance unit goals and patient care quality
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the State of Oregon (required)
- ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience (required)
- BSN in Nursing (preferred)
- Specialty certification in orthopedics or related area (preferred)
- Experience in leadership, nursing education, or quality improvement (preferred)
- Strong therapeutic communication, organizational skills, and ability to function independently
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (required)
- BSN in Nursing (preferred)
- Specialty certification (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical nursing and strong patient assessment skills
- Care coordination across multidisciplinary teams
- Therapeutic communication and guest relations
- Quality assurance and process improvement methodology
- Orthopedics clinical knowledge and hands-on patient care
- Policy, accreditation (DNV) awareness, and compliance practices
- Teamwork, collaboration, and able to act as a clinical resource for staff
