Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and infusion medications safely and accurately, following protocols and verifications
• Perform IV starts, port/PICC access and central line care with skill and compassion
• Operate and troubleshoot infusion pumps and monitor infusion therapy throughout treatments
• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and quickly identify and respond to adverse reactions or changes in condition
• Provide clear, patient-focused education about treatments, side-effect management and symptom control
• Document all care thoroughly and timely in Cerner EMR to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Coordinate care with oncology providers and the interdisciplinary team to support seamless treatment delivery
• Assist with treatment preparation, chart review, lab order verification and treatment authorization processes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (able to practice in Colorado)
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Current OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required
• AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Experience with outpatient infusion, port/PICC access and chemotherapy administration preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and strong documentation skills

• Chemotherapy administration and biotherapy knowledge
• Infusion therapy techniques and infusion pump operation
• IV starts, port/PICC access and central line care
• Patient assessment, monitoring and emergency response
• Patient education and symptom management for oncology populations
• Clinical documentation in Cerner EMR and treatment verification processes
• Collaboration with oncology providers and interdisciplinary teams
