Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents as a Certified Nursing Assistant
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and resident observations accurately
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary team members about resident needs
• Support safe transfers and fall-prevention measures to keep residents secure
• Contribute to a positive resident experience through respectful, dignity-driven care
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (T-CNA/CNA) — must be valid for practice in Maine
• Minimum competency with personal care, transfers, and documentation
• Comfortable working the 2:00 PM - 10:15 PM shift and collaborating with nursing staff
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — T-CNA/CNA required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs, safe resident handling, and basic clinical observations
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting and care documentation
• Infection control, hand hygiene, and standard precautions
• Strong interpersonal skills for resident- and family-centered care
• Time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
