Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output and changes in resident condition
• Provide attentive, person-centered care that promotes independence and comfort
• Communicate observations and concerns promptly to the nursing team and document accurately in resident records
• Help maintain a clean, safe and respectful living environment for residents
• Support social engagement and meaningful activities to enhance residents' quality of life

Qualifications

• GNA certification or completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program (required)
• Current state GNA or CNA registration as applicable
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy
• Successful background check and drug screen per facility requirements
• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA/CNA) program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care best practices and dignity-preserving approaches
• Competence in resident transfer techniques and fall prevention
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL support, toileting care
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families and team members
• Basic documentation skills and comfort learning electronic health record systems
