Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour nights per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Note: position is a 12-hour D/N rotating contract option as well — you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination depending on unit needs; schedule is self-scheduled with variable weekends and reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for adults and geriatrics with acute leukemia and hematology needs
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to rapidly identify patient changes
• Administer and manage IV therapy, blood product transfusions, and central/PICC line care safely and accurately
• Utilize EPIC for accurate computerized charting and documentation of patient care
• Follow and champion infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention efforts on the unit
• Participate in Rapid Response Team activation and emergency response as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, etc.) to coordinate patient-centered care
• Precept and support new staff during orientation and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required (must meet experience within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass)
• Travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers will be screened to client for review)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Telemetry/MS/Tele experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC care
• Proficiency with EPIC computerized charting
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating D/N schedules, and variable weekends as unit needs dictate
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; ONS Chemo Cert and NIHSS are nice-to-have

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and MS/Tele monitoring
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• IV therapy, starting IVs, and phlebotomy
• Blood product administration and central line blood draw
• PICC line management and peripheral line care
• Feeding tube care and management
• Infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention
• Use of Rapid Response Teams and emergency response
• EPIC electronic charting
• Familiarity with B450 monitors (GE telemetry), Alaris pumps, bladder scanners, and Stryker beds
