Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for patients on the 4 South Cardiac/Telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor and accurately interpret telemetry strips and act promptly on changes in patient status
• Document clinical care precisely and efficiently in Epic EMR with no shortcuts
• Collaborate proactively with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Safely float to Med-Surg areas as needed, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders
• Maintain competency by passing the required telemetry skills assessment on day one

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN)
• Minimum 3 years of current/recent Telemetry and/or Stepdown experience, including ability to read telemetry
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Current, proficient user of Epic EMR; refresher training or 1:1 shadowing is not permitted
• Willingness and ability to work every weekend as required by the schedule
• Demonstrated clinical judgment, strong assessment skills, and reliability under pressure

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac nursing fundamentals
• Epic EMR proficiency for documentation and order entry
• Med-Surg nursing experience and the ability to float across specialties
• Experience with wound care, stroke, oncology, respiratory care, and observation patients
• Strong patient assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to follow protocols, escalate concerns, and pass competency assessments
