Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality urgent care and occupational health services, including episodic care and injury treatment
• Assess, diagnose, and manage acute presentations across adolescent to geriatric populations
• Document patient encounters thoroughly and efficiently using Anthem EMR
• Practice autonomously while consulting a supervising physician by phone as needed
• Deliver work-related assessments and support return-to-work decisions when appropriate
• Communicate clearly with patients and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate follow-up care

Qualifications

• Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) in good standing
• Active Virginia PA license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Experience in Urgent Care and Occupational Health required
• Comfortable practicing autonomously with remote supervising physician support
• Proficiency with Anthem EMR or similar electronic health record systems
• Current BLS required; ACLS and other certifications a plus
• Locum/contract experience preferred but not required

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• NCCPA certification and state licensure (VA) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong urgent care clinical skills for episodic illnesses and injury treatment
• Familiarity with occupational health workflows and documentation
• Efficient EMR documentation practices, ideally with Anthem
• Excellent triage, communication, and patient education skills
• Ability to manage a diverse patient population from pediatric to geriatric
