Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with families and the multidisciplinary team
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Implement nursing interventions and continuously evaluate patient responses
• Monitor fetal status and maternal well-being using appropriate fetal monitoring techniques
• Respond promptly and effectively to labor, delivery, and acuity changes
• Document care and clinical findings accurately and timely
• Participate in required competency testing and maintain specialty certifications
• Advocate for patients and support family education throughout the perinatal experience

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island RN licensure required
• Minimum 2+ years of LDR or Antepartum nursing experience required
• Fetal monitoring experience required; C-EFM preferred
• Current BLS and NRP required
• AWHONN certification or equivalent fetal heart monitoring credential required
• Current CPR and all specialty-specific certifications required
• COVID-19 vaccination and facility-required health screenings/immunizations required
• English proficiency required

Education

• Completion of an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure (per facility requirement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Proficient fetal monitoring and interpretation skills (C-EFM preferred)
• Strong clinical judgment in labor and delivery settings
• Excellent communication and family-centered care skills
• Ability to work effectively as a float across LDR, LDRP, and ACU units
• Comfort with competency testing processes and ongoing skills validation
