Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (day) and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (night). Schedule set by manager, includes every-other-weekend requirement; both day and night rotations.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality intermediate/stepdown cardiac nursing care for CVU patients
- Assess and monitor patients continuously using telemetry and interpret rhythm strips
- Titrate IV drips (amiodarone, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem and others) per policy
- Collaborate closely with cardiology, hospitalists, intensivists and remote tele techs
- Support thoracic, EP, cath lab and structural heart patient populations with skilled care
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity of care
- Serve as a dependable team member — float to units of similar or lower acuity as required
- Complete orientation requirements and pass the open-book skills exam (90% pass threshold)
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license (eligible to practice in Nebraska; compact license acceptable if applicable)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (valid at time of submission)
- Minimum experience with cardiac/stepdown or downgraded CVICU patient population (1 year with population; 2 years RN experience noted on posting)
- Comfort and demonstrated ability to titrate IV drips and manage hemodynamically unstable patients
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry independently
- Driver's license required at time of submission (used to verify radius rule eligibility)
- Willingness to follow facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient care areas) and pass orientation exam
Education
- Active RN license required
- Associate degree or nursing diploma accepted; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- IV drip titration and vasoactive medication knowledge
- Experience with thoracic/EP/cath lab and structural heart care
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting
- Competence with respiratory support modalities (BiPAP, CPAP, nasal cannula troubleshooting)
- Team-based communication with RTs, intensivists, hospitalists and remote tele techs
- Charge nurse collaboration and working with patient care techs/nurse aides
