Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate and recover C-sections confidently, providing safe perioperative care in fully equipped OR suites
• Monitor laboring and preterm patients using electronic fetal monitoring and intervene per protocol
• Titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate according to hospital protocols to manage maternal care
• Perform thorough documentation using Cerner (or other computer charting systems) to keep the team informed
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, anesthesia, RT, pharmacy and IV teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
• Participate in a pass/fail simulation lab on day 1 of orientation and apply learnings to practice
• Follow AWHONN-informed staffing guidelines to deliver safe, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in Arizona) — license submission accepted and facility may wait if needed
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (per job requirements)
• Demonstrated experience with C-sections (circulation and recovery) required
• Current ACLS, BLS and NRP certifications required
• Comfortable with computer charting; Cerner experience preferred
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (pass score 80%; up to 2 attempts) prior to accepting an offer
• Willingness to complete a pass/fail simulation lab during orientation
• Comfort floating to Mother-Baby/Postpartum when needed and working weekends

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and familiarity with Fetal Link systems
• Dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience with Pitocin titration and Magnesium Sulfate titration per protocol
• Strong perioperative skills for L&D C-section circulation/recovery
• Proficient computer charting skills, ideally in Cerner EMR
• Ability to work in a Level II EQ and Level I Trauma Center environment
• Effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to prioritize in a busy L&D unit
