Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM (Days) and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM (Nights); every-other-weekend requirement; day/night rotation with 36 hours/week guaranteed

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a progressive care (PCU/stepdown) environment
- Monitor telemetry and respond quickly to rhythm changes and acute events
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including Alaris pumps and PCA pumps for pain
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
- Perform hourly rounding and ensure timely responsiveness to patient needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including educators, care managers, social workers, PT, and OT
- Safely assist with patient mobility using mechanical lifts and proper transfer techniques
- Float to other medical-surgical areas as needed to support unit staffing and patient care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in a U.S. state (eligible to work in Nebraska preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
- ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS required for submission
- Competency in telemetry and experience with stepdown/PCU patient populations
- Comfort caring for adults (pediatrics 15+ rarely) and managing common drips such as cardizem and insulin
- Valid driver's license required at time of submittal (radius rule applies)
- Willingness to complete orientation exam and meet the unit pass standard
- Able to work every-other-weekend and float to MS areas when needed
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills
- Proficient with EPIC electronic charting
- Experience with Alaris IV pump programming and PCA pump management
- Medication administration safety, including insulin and cardiac drips
- Effective hourly rounding and patient experience focus
- Team-oriented communication and ability to work in a fast-paced unit
