Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; Night: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), travelers scheduled, includes weekends (typically every other weekend), limited block scheduling available
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Med Surg, Telemetry and Orthopedics patients
- Monitor and interpret patient status with telemetry awareness and collaborate with tele/monitor techs
- Safely titrate IV drips including heparin, lidocaine and ketamine according to protocol
- Manage PCA pump setup and troubleshooting to ensure effective pain control
- Document timely and accurate patient information in EPIC
- Perform hourly rounding and rapid response to changing patient needs
- Support admissions, discharges and transfers to keep patient flow moving smoothly
- Work as a team player with nursing aides, charge nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver excellent care
- Use mechanical lifts and safe patient handling techniques when required
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the appropriate jurisdiction or compact license eligible
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry/Orthopedics nursing experience
- BLS (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
- Comfortable with 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
- Driver's license required at submittal and used for radius verification
- Willingness to complete unit orientation and pass the open-book skills exam with a 90% score
- Able to collaborate with nursing staff, monitor techs and support staff in a busy acute care setting
- Able to work within the radius rule restrictions (not currently FT/PT/PRN with CommonSpirit facilities)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong med-surg and orthopedic nursing knowledge
- Telemetry awareness and ability to respond appropriately to monitor changes
- Proficiency with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
- Experience with IV drip titration and PCA pump management
- Good assessment, prioritization and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with diverse patient populations
- Cultural competence and experience serving patients who speak Spanish, Karen and Burmese
- Familiarity with mechanical lifts and safe patient handling practices
