Location: Mattoon, Illinois

Shift Type: Full-time schedule with rotating shifts including nights and weekends

Candidate Pay Rate: $69 - $48.3 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist Neuro Tech with nerve conduction velocities and key clinical tasks to support exceptional patient care
Demonstrate solid knowledge of neurology and electroencephalography for precise diagnostics
Clearly explain EEG testing procedures to patients and families, easing their concerns
Maintain pristine equipment and fine-tune settings for top-notch results every time
Gather accurate patient histories to inform meaningful exams
Prepare patients and perform high-quality EEGs meeting lab standards
Craft detailed EEG reports packed with insightful clinical observations
Spot and resolve artifacts while executing activation procedures like hyperventilation
Respond swiftly to patient needs and uphold strict infection control
Account for medication impacts on EEGs for reliable interpretations
Verify physician orders and patient IDs for safety and accuracy

Qualifications

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification preferred
EEG technologist experience in a clinical setting
Current BLS certification
Strong patient interaction skills

Education

Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent training in polysomnography/EEG technology

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth understanding of neurology and EEG procedures
Expertise in recognizing and eliminating artifacts
Proficiency with EEG equipment maintenance and calibration
Knowledge of medication effects on diagnostic tests
Excellent communication for patient education
