Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct physical therapy interventions under the direction of a licensed physical therapist
- Implement the physician's plan of care and help patients progress toward functional goals
- Deliver hands-on patient care according to PT direction and facility protocols
- Document patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising physical therapist
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered care
- Adhere to the state Physical Therapy Practice Act and facility policies to ensure safe practice
Qualifications
- Licensed PTA in the state of New Mexico or license eligible
- Comfortable working full time in a skilled nursing facility
- Able to follow a supervising physical therapist's plan of care and physician orders
- Open to all experience levels, including new graduates as stated in the job posting
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and interdisciplinary teams
Knowledge & Skills
- Physical therapy delivery in a rehab or skilled nursing setting
- Patient care provided according to PT direction
- Implementing physician-ordered plans of care
- Knowledge of and adherence to the state Physical Therapy Practice Act
- Skilled documentation and effective communication with supervising PTs
