Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to elderly residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Support safe transfers and mobility assistance while using proper body mechanics
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart or EMR
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, respectful communication
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and supporting ADLs
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to follow care plans, safety protocols, and facility policies

Education

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and best practices
• Familiarity with safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Understanding of infection prevention and hygiene procedures
• Comfortable using electronic charting or paper documentation systems
• Ability to observe, prioritize, and escalate resident needs appropriately
