Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs, report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to reduce fall risk
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe patient environment
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — New Mexico credential preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate patient care
• Willingness to complete facility-required background check and drug screening
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited/state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in basic patient care, ADLs, and safe patient handling
• Proficient at taking vital signs and recognizing changes in patient condition
• Knowledge of infection control practices and hygiene protocols
• Ability to document care accurately and follow care plans
• Good interpersonal skills, patience, and cultural sensitivity
