Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
Support safe mobility and fall-prevention efforts while encouraging independence
Observe and document resident condition changes accurately and promptly
Communicate effectively with nursing staff, therapists, and family members to support coordinated care
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
Participate in care planning and team huddles to improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Comfortable working a full 8-hour day shift and performing physical care duties
Clear background check and required immunizations per facility policy
Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to elder care

Education

High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited GNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
Skill in assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
Familiarity with basic documentation/charting practices
Infection control and safety protocol awareness
Compassion, patience, and strong teamwork abilities
