Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM Night shift (days not specified)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
Monitor residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
Support safe transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
Create warm, respectful interactions that enhance resident quality of life

Qualifications

Current GNA certification or completion of an accredited GNA program
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Experience caring for elderly residents is a plus, but compassion and a strong work ethic count
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a care team

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

Basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Infection prevention and basic wound care awareness
Accurate documentation and electronic medical record familiarity
Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
Teamwork and good communication with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
