Roles & Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care for outpatient cardiology patients following established standards and best practices
Coordinate patient care and assist providers and clinic staff to ensure smooth clinic operations
Serve as primary liaison between patients, providers and staff to facilitate clear communication and continuity of care
Perform EKG interpretation support and monitor cardiac rhythms, recognizing and escalating arrhythmias as appropriate
Administer cardiac medications and assist with cardiac procedures per clinic protocols
Document assessments, interventions and patient education in the medical record accurately and timely
Promote patient safety, infection control and evidence-based practices in all aspects of care

Qualifications

Active MT RN licensure required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (preferred)
At least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience preferred
Comfortable with EKGs, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac medications and common cardiac procedures

Education

Graduate of nursing program (ADN/BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Patient care and care coordination in an outpatient setting
EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
Knowledge of cardiac medications and procedures
Basic coronary care knowledge
Medical terminology and basic nursing principles and procedures
Basic office skills and key boarding skills to support clinic workflows
