Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to geriatric residents
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and ambulation to promote independence
• Monitor and record resident vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of care and resident interactions
• Support a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to promote coordinated care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or working with geriatric populations is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by the facility
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude and strong teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of geriatric care and ADLs
• Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
• Infection control and safe handling techniques
• Clear, respectful communication with residents and families
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a care team
