Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities using evidence-based methods
• Develop individualized treatment plans that drive measurable progress and meaningful outcomes
• Deliver therapy sessions with compassion and clear communication to patients and families
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient results
• Document clinical findings and progress in accurate, timely records
• Participate in required agency testing and competency checklists to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Michigan speech license required
• ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Valid driver's license with photo ID
• Successful background check and 10-panel drug screen
• Up-to-date tuberculosis test, Hepatitis B records, MMR, Varicella, and Tdap or appropriate documentation
• Influenza vaccine or declination form
• Ability to provide resume/application and agency Certificate of Liability Insurance

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment planning for communication and swallowing disorders
• Strong clinical documentation and charting habits
• Comfortable collaborating with nurses, physicians, and rehabilitation teams
• Familiarity with infection control and immunization requirements
• Ability to complete agency competency exams and checklists
• Good interpersonal skills for patient- and family-centered care
