Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform safe patient transfers using Hoyer lifts, sliding boards and other transfer equipment to protect patients and staff
• Administer medications accurately and document administration in the EMR (Meditech/Pyxis)
• Conduct bladder scans, EKGs and dressing changes as needed to support patient recovery
• Complete rehab scoring documentation and contribute to interdisciplinary care plans
• Deliver bedside report and participate in hourly rounding to ensure continuity of care
• Ensure bed alarm activation and follow unit guidelines to promote patient safety
• Collaborate with the team, take initiative in patient care, and support a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (must be in good standing)
• BLS certification (required)
• Transfer training (required — candidates without transfer training will not be considered)
• EMR proficiency (Meditech experience preferred; Pyxis familiarity a plus)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience (rehab experience preferred)
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to take initiative on the unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication systems
• Patient transfers and safe use of Hoyer lifts and transfer devices
• Bladder scanner operation and basic EKG knowledge
• Medication administration and accurate clinical documentation
• Rehab scoring and documentation processes
• Effective bedside handoff, hourly rounding and patient safety practices
