Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry and med-surg care during 12-hour night shifts
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond to alarms promptly
• Perform thorough patient assessments, document changes, and escalate concerns
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely, following facility protocols
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to support effective patient care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and bedside procedures as needed while floating to med-surg
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and all mandatory health screenings

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) with Nursys verification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• CPI and DCI/BVP certifications as listed by the facility
• Recent telemetry and medical-surgical experience, comfortable floating between units
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to per-diem scheduling
• Successful completion of drug screen, immunizations, TB testing, and fit testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing best practices and patient assessment
• IV medication administration and infusion management
• Strong documentation skills in electronic health records
• Critical thinking, triage, and rapid response for acute changes
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient-centered care
