Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care during overnight shifts with strong attention to detail
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes in condition clearly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document interventions per policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient-centered outcomes
• Prioritize and triage patient needs during busy night hours to maintain smooth operations
• Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions in a clear, respectful way

Qualifications

• Current RN license in California or eligibility to obtain California licensure
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by unit
• Previous acute care nursing experience preferred (medical/surgical or overnight experience a plus)
• Current clinical skills in medication administration, IV therapy, and patient assessment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on night shift

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical judgment and critical thinking under overnight conditions
• Proficient charting and documentation skills (electronic medical records experience preferred)
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks during high-acuity periods
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on patient safety and quality care
• Comfort with routine procedures, medication management, and basic emergency interventions
